A guide to getting your art-fix during lockdown, while supporting some amazing female artists.
Galleries and museums are closed, exhibition openings seem like a thing of the past, and the only place we are getting any type of artistic content from these days seems to be Instagram.
As much as we crave going around museums, looking at Rodin statues, Monet paintings or Man Ray iconic photographs, there are plenty of young, emerging artists that deserve a place in the spotlight.
Even though independent galleries are one of the best places to discover new talents, there are plenty of ways to get your art-fix online. If you are thinking about starting your art collection, websites like Partnership Editions or The Artling are great platforms to find up-and-coming artists whose work is still reasonably affordable.
If you are not in a position to invest right now, remember that most artists are also selling prints of their works, which are a lot less expensive than the actual piece of art.
Last but not least, in this day and age, support also comes from social media. Sharing, liking and appreciating someone’s work goes a long way in a world where everything seems to be decided by an algorithm.
If art is your thing, we selected eleven incredible female artists to support and buy art from during lockdown and beyond.
