Cottagecore: the trend that brings spring into your home

If you are longing for nature and a slower life, Cottagecore inspired interiors could be the quick fix you need.

Many thought Cottagecore would be one of those trends that come and go but – maybe thanks to the exodus to the countryside that we have seen happening in the last year, maybe because looking at Cottagecore Instagram accounts makes us instantly calmer and happier – this romantic trend seems to be here to stay.

But what is Cottagecore? Also known as Farmcore or Countrycore, Cottagecore is a trend that focuses on romanticising (western world) country life. A nostalgic look at life in nature that usually includes flower beds, cute cottages, hand-written letters, baking, cute animals and lovely dresses on girls with long, lush hair. The colours used are also essential in Cottagecore aesthetic. Nothing too bold is ever featured; everything fits with the idea of nature, and the surroundings inspire the colours: brown, olive green, ivory, beige, ochre, light yellow, baby pink, and light blue are the colours of choice when it comes to this trend.

Often accused to underestimate the labour of farmers and to misrepresent real life in the countryside, Cottagecore is a controversial trend. Still, it doesn’t seem to ever go down in popularity. It suffices to search for #cottagecore on Instagram or Tik Tok to find an incredible amount of users living their best Cottagecore life.

Controversies aside, the Cottagecore aesthetic is undeniably pleasant to the eyes. With our renewed longing for nature and freedom, more and more people want a piece of the countryside in their homes.

We feel ready to transform our apartments in Jane Austin’s novel so, if Cottagecore is your thing, we selected the best country-inspired objects that the internet has to offer.
