Are you after a slower lifestyle? We selected some of the best documentaries to watch to get inspired to live your best slow life.
If there is one thing that this annus horribilis (aka a year of disaster and misfortune) taught us is how important it is to take life a little bit slower and concentrate on what’s meaningful instead of getting sucked in societal standards and the permanent rat-race.
Of course, we can’t wait to get out and live our life as nothing has happened, but there are some things that we won’t rush into again. Did you remember the hours spent on trains, busses and metros, just to reach the workplace? We won’t be doing that anymore if we can avoid it.
Another thing that we won’t be doing is living our lives following someone else’s rules. This time spent indoors made us realise what we would like our life to look like when all this mess is finally over. Some of us loved working from home; others can’t wait to get back to old habits and their colleagues. Whatever floats your boat!
Many people took advantage of this year to change their life completely – or even just a little bit. Some people launched their own business, some left the city for a life in the countryside, and others realised that the ladder they were desperately trying to climb was not the right one for them.
Sometimes it takes a big shock to realise even the smallest of things, and the pandemic was a big slap in the face for all of us.
One thing we learned has been to take life a little slower. With no commute, no flights to catch and an emptier calendar, we have had time to take a step back and do more things we love, made changes to our lifestyles and maybe convert to a completely different way of living.
If you are curious about a slower approach to your every day, we selected some of the best documentaries to watch to get inspired to live your best slow life.
