The best female artists to follow on Instagram

Museums might be closed, but there is a world of art to discover on your phone. We selected some of the best female artists to follow on Instagram to get you the art-fix you are longing for.

We have been in and out of lockdown for a year and, unfortunately, we haven’t been able to enjoy art in person for a while.

The cultural sector has taken a big hit since the start of the pandemic, and museums, theatres and cinemas are still closed in many countries. If most governments don’t seem to realise the importance of the arts, especially in difficult times, we certainly do. We understand that most of us are longing for a day at the museum, a musical night or an evening spent watching a film while eating a bucket of buttery popcorn, surrounded by strangers.

We might not be able to do all that just yet, but that doesn’t mean we can’t enjoy art – even if it’s through our phone’s screen. As art gets more and more democratised, many incredible female artists are blossoming in the online space.

It was a hard decision to make, but we selected some of our favourite female artists to follow on Instagram if you need a daily art-fix.
